Terms of use

Effective October 23, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Vickery & Co. (the company behind Write Club) when you use club.vickeryandco.com. By signing in, you agree to them.

Joining

  • Write Club is invite-only for now. The host decides who gets in, and can open or close sign-up at any time.
  • You need to be at least 18 to join.
  • One account per person, signed in with your own email. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

Your writing is yours

You keep all rights to everything you write and post. By posting in the club (room posts, shared lines, partner notes), you give Vickery & Co. permission to store it and show it to club members as part of how the club works. That permission ends when you delete the post or your account. We never use your writing outside the club.

Playing nice

Follow the community guidelines. The host can remove posts or remove members who break them. Removing a member deletes their account and everything in it.

Money

Write Club is free. Chipping in through PayPal is optional and gets you no extra features. Contributions go toward running the club, including its server costs. They're non-refundable, though we may make exceptions at our discretion.

The fine print

  • We work hard to keep the club running and your data safe, but the club is provided as is. We can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Keep your own copy of your writing; the club tracks numbers, not manuscripts.
  • We may change or end features, or the club itself. If we ever close the club, we'll give members notice.
  • To the extent the law allows, Vickery & Co. isn't liable for indirect losses from using the club, and our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts in Cook County, Illinois.

Changes and questions

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell members in the club before the change takes effect. Questions go to heather@vickeryandco.com. How we handle your information is in the privacy policy.
