Community guidelines
The first rule of Write Club: you absolutely talk about Write Club. The rest are about making it a place where people want to keep showing up for their words.
Cheer loudly
High-five generously. Every word counts, whether it's 50 or 5,000. Celebrate other people's wins like they're your own.
No shame zone
Missed days, stalled drafts, and messy middles happen to everyone. Nobody gets judged for falling behind, and starting a fresh round is always allowed.
Count honestly
Word counts run on the honor system. Log what you actually wrote. The badges mean more that way, and the club totals stay real.
Respect other people's work
Lines and posts belong to the people who wrote them. Don't copy or share someone else's writing outside the club without their permission.
Feedback only when asked
If someone shares a line, they want a high-five, not a critique. Offer notes on someone's writing only when they ask for them.
Partners
Nudge kindly, and take no for an answer. If a partnership isn't working, either of you can end it, no explanation needed.
Not here
- Harassment, bullying, hate, or threats, in public posts or private notes
- Selling, spam, or promoting your services
- Sharing anyone's personal information
- Sexual or graphic content aimed at other members
Heavy stuff gets a heads-up
Your writing can go to dark places, and you can talk about it here. If a post touches on violence, sex, grief, abuse, or anything similarly heavy, put a heads-up at the top, like "CW: grief," so people can choose whether to read on.
If something's not right
Tap Report on any post or line. Only the host sees reports, and she never sees who made them. She'll keep the post or remove it. Depending on what happened, the host may remove posts or remove a member from the club. Removed members can't sign back up.
